Today, Supercars have released a revised 2020 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship calendar.

It is apparent that when the draft calendar was released four weeks ago, their primary objective was to ensure we returned to racing as soon as possible. Accordingly, the 2020 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship revised calendar will now see us complete nine more rounds, finishing under lights at Sydney Motorsport Park on December 12-13.

That means the 2020 season now includes 11 rounds, in addition to the 10-round Eseries just completed. By finishing in December, it ensures finality in the 2020 calendar year, and a clean slate to start the 2021 season.

Sandown has been moved to its traditional pre-Bathurst slot, but as a consequence of circumstances surrounding COVID-19, previously announced rounds in New Zealand and the secondary Bathurst event will no longer go ahead.

All events remain subject to change based on appropriate State, Territory and Federal regulations, as they continue to be updated in response to COVID-19 and otherwise.

Walkinshaw Andretti United will return to racing at Sydney Motorsport Park on June 27-28 with three 130km sprint races, live on Fox Sports and Kayo.
