Chaz Mostert: 9th
Bryce Fullwood: 13th

Sunday started with qualifying, which put Chaz in 12th and Bryce in 13th. Improvements were made overnight, but both cars just needed an extra tenth of a second, which would have put them inside the top seven cars.

The second of two 250km races started incident free, with both cars walking the fine line between battling hard and protecting the tyre early on.

Bryce stopped first on both occasions, with Chaz going longer, with good tyre life through the middle of the race.

Chaz’s late stop allowed him to pass into the top 10 with 20-laps to go, and while he had the pace to match the group in front, didn’t have the track position.

Bryce was running solidly in 11th for most of the day, before a last lap scrap with Heimgartner and Courtney dropped him to 13th.

There were definite improvements made over the weekend, which gives us a direction to continue to follow, but plenty of work to do from Townsville this week.

Next weekend’s Townsville SuperSprint begins on Saturday July 17 with three races across two days.

Chaz Mostert

“We definitely made some improvements today, the car was a lot better in the race, so that’s promising. We’ve still got some work to do this week before next weekend, but I have nothing but faith in the people here.

“We will take what we learned today, and use it through the week before next Saturday. I’m excited at the opportunity to have another go next weekend that’s for sure.”

Bryce Fullwood

“I think overall today was better in terms of where our car was at.

“It was definitely better in qualifying, we missed the shootout by not much at all which was a shame, but the car responded a lot better.

“I think we found a few answers today that will give us more to work with during the week before we come back and do it all again next weekend. I’m glad we don’t have to wait long.”
