It’s time for the big one, the one we’ve all been waiting for, the Bathurst 1000.

All eyes are on Bathurst, it’s all been building to this weekend.

As the season finale, nothing will be left on the table. Chaz knows what it takes to win around here, and Bryce will be looking to finish his time with the team on a high.

161 laps around The Mountain. Bring it on.

The Track

What more can you say about Bathurst? 6.2 kilometres of the most amazing piece of road in Australia (and the world if you ask us…)

From Conrod to McPhillamy, The Grate to Forrest Elbow, it’s a hold your breath operation for most of the lap, which is just over 2 minutes long.

Drivers

We finally get to see Lee Holdsworth and Warren Luff in official action with their counterparts, Chaz Mostert and Bryce Fullwood, for the first time this year.

Luffy’s resume speaks for itself, six Bathurst podiums alone, while this time last year, Lee was on provisional pole after qualifying.

Tyres

Hard tyre all weekend, and maybe some wets…

We’ve been allocated 13 new sets per car…. Yep, per car! Add in another two sets of previously used tyres we will run, and that’s a grand total of 120 Dunlop tyres across the weekend.

Format

We kick start the event on Thursday with practice. Across the weekend there six practice sessions, plus a Sunday morning warm-up.

The greatest qualifying session of the year takes place on Friday afternoon, with a 40-minute session that determines 11th-25th on the grid, but more importantly, who gets a lap of The Mountain to themselves on Saturday afternoon in the Top 10 Shootout!

On Sunday, 12:15pm AEDT is when the engines will roar, and 161 laps later, a champion will be crowned.

How to Watch

Get ready for a big weekend on the couch!

Fox Sports will cover every session live, while Channel 7 have you sorted on Friday to Sunday.

Pitstops

At some stage during the race, cars will have to complete a front brake rotor change. This involves, for us, taking the entire brake calliper and rotor off, and replacing them with brand new ones, fresh out of the oven to warm up.

These changes should take under 30-seconds, and it’s a sight to behold as it’s happening!

Weather

It could be an interesting weekend on the weather front.

There is a strong chance of rain on Thursday and Friday, but the weekend, for now, looks clear.

Chaz Mostert

“I love this place, it’s awesome to be back that’s for sure, nothing beats it.

“Our team as a whole has put in a massive effort over the last two months, it’s been awesome to see the hours and effort everyone has put in to get to this point, so can’t wait to see what we achieve.

“Can’t wait to team up with Leethal as well, I think we are similar in style and what we want out of a car, and he is super quick.

“Can’t wait to jump in the Mobil 1 Appliances Online No. 25 today and start building to Sunday.”

Lee Holdsworth

“It’s awesome to be with WAU here at Bathurst, and great to be sharing the Mobil 1 Appliances Online 25 with Chazzie this weekend, I’m really excited to see what we can do.

“My role this year is a little different, my job now is to hand the car back to Chaz in the best possible position, so I’m looking forward to that, the test days have been really good to reaffirm that what we want out of the car is really similar.

“Can’t wait for the weekend!”

Bryce Fullwood

“It’s so cool being back at The Mountain, no matter how many times you come here, you still get that same feeling that first time you see the Mount Panorama sign as you drive in.

“It’s been a massive commitment from everyone to get here, I can’t thank the team enough for their hard work, now it’s time to reward them with a good weekend.

“Working with Luffy has been awesome, he is a pro, and I’ll be leaning on him throughout the weekend, but I’m confident heading in we can get a good result together.

“A big thank you to everyone for their support over my two years here, it really is a fantastic team, and I’m hoping we can finish on a high.”

Warren Luff

“It’s so awesome to be back here at Bathurst, and it’s some awesome to see fans back here, this place wasn’t the same without their passion.

“Really looking forward to teaming up with Bryce in the Mobil 1 Middy’s Racing No. 2, it was nice to get some laps at the test day recently, which will help no doubt as we head into the weekend.

“It’s great to be back in the WAU family again, as we know, anything can happen at Bathurst, so looking forward to seeing what The Mountain has in store for Bryce and I.”
