Round 2 of 2022 is a wrap, with three races at Symmons Plains in the books.

Race 3: Saturday

Chaz: 23rd
Nick: 24th

Not much to say about this one other than that it was one to forget.

Both cars suffered damage in separate incidents, Nick early in the race, and Chaz when he couldn’t avoid a spinning car.

It put both down the back, as the crew had to do some repair work on the spot to classify them as finishers.

Race 4: Sunday

Chaz: 4th
Nick: 11th

Chaz was the mover of the field, picking up 12 spots during the race to just miss a podium. A lap or two more and it could have been a different story.

Car 25 stopped late and had the tyre advantage at the end to move through the field.

Nick was stuck in the freight-train that is Tasmania for most of the race, just lacking a little bit of balance late to be able to move into the 10.

Race 5: Sunday

Nick: 10th
Chaz: 18th

After a red flag ruined both drivers qualifying runs, it was always going to be tough from 19th and 21st respectively, but Nick was the big mover in this one.

He picked up 11 places during the race to move up to 10th, which was a nice effort.

Chaz used most of his tyres in the second race to get to fourth, making it tough to move forward in this one.

Chaz Mostert

“Not the weekend we were hoping for overall when we headed in.

“Was great to get that fourth place finish today, but we struggled for balance most of the weekend.

“Full focus on the Grand Prix now, we will be straight back into it tomorrow, and look to have a really positive weekend in Melbourne.”

Nick Percat

“Tricky weekend for us and the team this weekend.

“Saturday was tough, that’s for sure, but we banked some reasonable points today, especially starting near the back in that last race.

“A huge amount of work is going on around our team which is awesome to see, so no doubt we will all put our heads together over the next few weeks before the Grand Prix, which I’m looking forward to.”
