Walkinshaw Andretti United has today announced that that Adam De Borre has joined the engineering group as Race Engineer of the Chaz Mostert entry for the 2020 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.
It means he will continue his relationship with Mostert, having worked together for six of the previous seven Supercars seasons.
De Borre joins the team with over a decade of experience in the Supercars paddock, having worked with teams such as Garry Rogers Motorsport, Tony D’Alberto Racing, DJR Team Penske, and Tickford Racing. He also has experience in British, FIA and Australian GT categories.
Having already started in the Walkinshaw Andretti United office, work is in full swing as the Team prepares for the upcoming SuperTest on February 18 at the Bend Motorsport Park, followed by the Superloop Adelaide 500 beginning on February 20.
Mathew Nilsson - Co-Team Principle, Walkinshaw Andretti United
“It’s wonderful to have Adam join the engineering group here at Walkinshaw Andretti United.
“He has a fantastic pedigree in motorsport, and will certainly add to the experience of the group as we look to continue our progression.
“Having that stable relationship with Chaz is also critical. There will be a lot of new elements for Chaz to adjust to early on in the season, so to have that familiarity between the two of them is a huge bonus, and a formula that is proven.”
Adam De Borre - Race Engineer
“It’s really exciting to be joining such a strong and experienced group at Walkinshaw Andretti United in 2020. It’s a team with so much history and I can’t wait to add to that with Chaz.
“To be able to stay with Chaz for the start of our seventh season together is fantastic and I hope all the experience gained over the past six seasons will help us guide the car to the front.”
