Mobil 1™ Boost Mobile Racing has taken the covers off its Holden ZB Commodores, which both James Courtney and Scott Pye will pilot for the 2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.
Both cars will use the same livery, with Scott Pye in No. 2, and James Courtney in car No. 25, celebrating the 25-year partnership between the team and Mobil 1™.
Boost Mobile has stepped up to take a major branding position on the sides of both cars. The striking orange, gloss-black and silver colour-scheme is sure to be a real head turner, evolving from the orange and black liveries which James Courtney ran in 2017.
Mobil 1 retains their iconic bonnet position, representing their long-term support and esteemed engine performance partnership with the team.
In 2018 the team welcomes back integral partners SharkBite Plumbing Solutions, VISA Global Logistics and SP Tools, who each continue their important support of the team, also with strong branding positions on the car.
The team also welcomes onboard two fantastic new partners, Skechers and Kawana, for the season, both of which will have branding positions on car No. 2 and No. 25.
Other supporting brands that will be seen on both Mobil 1 Boost Mobile Racing machines in 2018 are truck partner Scania, equipment manufacturer Sparco and model partner Biante. Noticeably, PPG has also continued their long-term partnership with the organisation bringing the brilliant livery to life with PPG paints.
A final notable addition to both cars in 2018 will be the Walkinshaw Andretti United shield, located proudly on the front of the car, just below the bonnet.
Scott Pye’s No. 2 will hit the track today at Winton for a 60km shakedown, before both cars roll out at Sydney Motorsport Park this Friday, February 16 for the Supercars test day.
James Courtney
“How good do these things look! They are a real head turner that’s for sure.
“Having Boost Mobile on the side of both cars this year is really good to see, and of course the Mobil 1 bonnet, which is synonymous with the team, is as prominent as ever.
“The guys have done a great job getting the cars to where they are at, they have put in some major hours recently to make sure it’s right to go for the test so a big thanks must go to them.
“The bright orange on the gloss black means that they will really stand out on track, you won’t miss us that’s for sure.
“I’m really looking forward to getting behind the wheel now, it’s been a few months so buckling up again at SMP has been on my mind for a while; I’m itching to get back into it.”
Scott Pye
“From the moment the boys started putting the cars together, it was clear to everyone how good they look.
“The orange will be new to me this year, but I already love it, it’s really striking.
“We’ve got some amazing brands linking up with us this year, it’s great to have partners show their support again in 2018, as well as welcoming new ones on.
“I can’t wait to see what it looks like on-track. And to get behind the wheel of it. Everyone in the team has done a mega job getting it to this point, now the fun begins!”
