Race 22

Chaz: 2nd
Nick: DNF

It was the highs and lows of motorsport in an hour window.

The race started chaotically, where Nick was caught up in a huge accident at the start where Randle, who started off second, stalled and was collected. Nick was pushed into the wall while trying to avoid, and that was over and out.

The crew had a big job ahead of them to get Nick back for the second race.

On the other side, Chaz got the perfect start, going from sixth to first by turn 1. From there, he led until his stop, but unfortunately, got over-cut by SVG who went long into the race.

His podium made it 2/2 races so far this weekend.

Chaz: 8th
Nick: 9th

First of all, the crew did an incredible job to get car 2 back out there, just in time. It was a huge effort.

As cars were on the grid, the heavens opened up and the wets went on.

Chaz was pushing on in the top six before contact with Davison gave him a 15-second penalty, which he served at the first stop.

He set the fastest lap of the race and was the one to watch, but was just too far back because of the penalty.

Nick was doing a great job in the circumstances, wheeling Car 2 into the Top 10.

He kept his nose clean all race in trying conditions, and showed good speed later in the race to move forward.

Chaz Mostert

“Overall, pretty positive weekend. To get two podiums was a great result and one we will continue to build off.

“Last race was a little disappointing, I’m pretty dirty on myself for bumping into Will, sorry to him, because the car was good.

“To get inside the 10 after the penalty, you can’t complain with that I guess.

“We will get back and work through everything, and get ready for Sandown in a few weeks.”

Nick Percat

“First off, massive thank you to everyone at Walkinshaw Andretti United. They worked like crazy to get the Mobil 1 NTI Racing No. 2 back out there – they are superstars.

“Nice to fight back into the 10 today in the wet, the car was really good, we got caught up in a few battles that probably cost us being further up but that’s racing.

“Hopefully Tom and Andre are all good, that was a pretty scary one to start the day, and there was just no where for me to go to avoid it. Credit to the safety of these cars though.”
