Another 13 lap race was ahead of us today, which was a mixed bag of fortunes in the end.

For James, who started out of P5, he showed great car speed throughout the race.

After an early duel with Reynolds, which resulted in the two side by side for half a lap, he was able to find clear air and match the top four pace wise for the majority of the affair.

He hunted down Mostert in fourth, but couldn’t get close enough to get by, brining it home in P5.

In what has been one of those weekends so far for Scott, he got caught up in the turn one mess.

He immediately got on the radio complaining of a right rear issue, so the team made the call to bring him in and give it the once over.

He had to swing past the pits once more during the race, with the team erring on the side of caution with no points up for grabs, eventually coming home in P22.

That leaves us three quarters of the way through the weekend, with one more 13 lapper to come tomorrow at 1:05pm.

From the bosses desk Adrian Burgess

“It was a bit of mixed fortunes today, but with JC it was encouraging that he finally got to start where the pace of the car deserved to be and he was able to ran with that lead group.

“We ran the same pace as McLaughlin and Mostert in front of us, but probably just didn’t have the pace for Coulthard and Whincup.

“We tried a few things with the setup of that car and James was happy with it, so we’ve learnt a fair amount.

“Scotty unfortunately got involved with an incident at turn one at the start, and felt there might have been something bent on the car, and it probably wasn’t worth putting him or the car at risk, so we thought we would bring him in to check it out.

“We couldn’t find anything major, so we tried a couple of things in the race.

“It was mixed fortunes, but we are looking forward to having another crack tomorrow.”
