It was a productive test day for Mobil 1 HSV Racing at Winton yesterday, with the team working through a designated program of evaluation.

It was our second of three test days for 2017; the first since the pre-season test at Sydney Motorsport Park in February.

A damp track greeted the team on arrival to the Victorian circuit, but once that cleared up, the weather gods were on our side, with a dry track for the rest of the day.

The engineering team had a roadmap to work through for the day which they were able to do.

An added bonus was having both co-drivers, Jack Perkins and Warren Luff there, turning valuable laps in their respective cars as the endurance seasons edges close..

Acting General Manager of Motorsport, Mathew Nilsson, was pleased with how the day unfolded.

“Overall it was a positive day,” Nilsson said.

“We worked through a program we had set in place which saw some positive results, and collated some valuable data.

“Delaying our second test day of the year meant we had an arsenal of things to work through, which we got a read on.

“It was also great to have both co-drivers jump in the car, help with the development, and turn some valuable laps.

“We will go through everything and take it to another circuit in Sydney Motorsport Park next week and confirm what we have learned here.

“We’ve also got another test to come before Sandown which will be another opportunity to progress, as well as having Jack and Luffy back in the car before their three events this year.”

Our attention now turns to Round 9 of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park next week.

Cars hit the track on Friday, August 18, before races 17 and 18 take place over the weekend.
