Walkinshaw Andretti United is delighted to announce that it will be hosting a driver evaluation day Tuesday, December 4, with two up-and-coming stars behind the wheel.

Through the support of Morris Finance, Jaxon Evans and Abbie Eaton will drive a Walkinshaw Andretti United prepared Holden VF Commodore, which will run in Dunlop Super 2 Series specification at Winton Raceway, for a full day of running. It will be both drivers’ first time driving a Supercar.

Evans, 22, was the winner of the 2018 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Series, and was just recently announced as the winner of the 2018 Porsche Motorsport Junior Programme Shootout. He will compete in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2019, that runs together with the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, as an official Porsche Junior.

Eaton, a 26-year-old British racing driver, is well known for her role on the TV series “The Grand Tour" alongside Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May - where she is the test driver on the 'Eboladrome'. She has an extensive racing pedigree which has seen her win the 2014 Mazda MX5 Super Cup title, alongside several class victories in British GT and the Blancpain Endurance Series.

Earlier this year in a Peter Brock replica Commodore, she took on (and beat) the likes of regular Australian Supercars visitor, John Cleland at the Silverstone Classic.

Both drivers will be put through a full day of testing under the watchful eye of Warren Luff, Walkinshaw Andretti United endurance driver and driving coach, made possible by the support of Morris Finance, a long-term partner of the team, as well as Jaxon.

Walkinshaw Andretti United Co-Team Principal, Bruce Stewart, is thrilled to have two talented drivers experiencing a Supercar first hand with the team.

“It’s extremely exciting for our business to be able to have two young drivers of Jaxon and Abbie’s calibre in the car for an evaluation day,” Stewart said.

“Jaxon is someone we know well. We are delighted for him and the opportunity he has with the Porsche Motorsport programme in Europe, but would love to have him in a car if the opportunity ever arises, calendar permitting.

“Abbie has quickly become a friend of the team, and we were lucky enough to have her in the garage with us at Newcastle.

“We know she is exploring her options for the 2019 season, but it’s fantastic that we can provide the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a Supercar for the first time. There’s no denying her ability.

“None of this would be possible without the support of Morris Finance. They have been a huge-supporter of ours over the last eight-years, as well as Jaxon, once again going above and beyond to give back.”

The driver evaluation day will run from 8:30am until 5pm.
