Scott Pye has finished race 6 of the 2019 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship in 11th, while James Courtney nursed a damaged car home in 16th to round out the Australian Grand Prix weekend.

Pye moved forward four spots in the 13-lap sprint, to ensure he moved forward in all four of the races across the weekend.

Courtney moved up from 11th to ninth by turn one, but multiple hits on the opening lap bent his steering, forcing him back in the pack, and ending his run of consecutive top-10 finishes all weekend.

Over the course of weekend both cars improved, and excluding JC’s result today, moved forward in every race, showing the progression made.

Next up, we head to Tasmania in two weeks time, followed by the Phillip Island Super Sprint the following weekend.

Mathew Nilsson - Co-Team Principal

“While we didn’t start the weekend where we wanted to, we made some clear progression with the car over the weekend.

“The direction we believed was required was the right one, which helped both cars across the course of the weekend, but we need to ensure the car is better when it rolls out of the truck at the start of a weekend, that’s what hurt us with the early qualifying sessions, which were so important.

“Now we shift our focus to Tasmania. We had some strong results there last year including a podium, which we look to improve on this year.”
