James Courtney has finished 13th, and Scott Pye 20th in Race 17 in Townsville.

JC picked up four spots across the 70 laps, while Scott wasn’t able to advance on his starting position.

Overall, it was an unsatisfactory afternoon that didn’t yield the results we wanted.

JC started from 17th, and Scott 19th after a qualifying session where we were on the wrong end of 0.2 of a second. That 0.2 seconds quicker would have put us inside the top eight.

After a blistering opening lap from JC, the race became relatively uneventful from there.

Car 2 tried a few different strategies during the race, including staying out long in the first stint, but the underlying factor was a lack of pace which limited any moves forward.

Both boys’ hands were tied in the closing stages of the race and had to salvage what they could.

We will get up and go again tomorrow.
