We’re back!

After a few months of racing withdrawals, we roar back into action around the streets of Adelaide for Round 1 of the 2020 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship.

It’s the first event of a new chapter, as Chaz Mostert begins his time as a Walkinshaw Andretti United driver, while Bryce Fullwood will begin his main-game Supercars journey.

It’s been a huge summer for everyone in the team, working tirelessly to ensure everything is ready for the start of the season. We’re ready to tackle the year head on, and continue the upward trajectory shown in backend of 2019.

Adelaide is a circuit that requires 100 per cent commitment 100 per cent of the time. The concrete canyon always produces some brilliant racing, but also bites hard if you get it wrong.

The weather looks much more pleasant than this time 12-months ago, with the mercury expected to sit in the high 20’s.

Both boys have trained the house down over summer to ensure they are in peak physical condition, but it’s going to be an event that puts everything under the microscope.

While Bryce may be new to the championship, Adelaide is a friendly location, having taken out the Super2 round in 2019.

Both the Mobil 1 Middy’s Racing No. 2 and the Mobil 1 Appliances Online No. 25 cars will hit the track for the first time today at 3:55pm local time, for the first of four practice sessions of the weekend, ahead of two 250km races.

Catch all the action on Fox Sports and Channel 10 across the weekend.

Chaz Mostert

“I’m so pumped to finally get the year officially underway.

“We’ve gone through the data from the test day and there are a lot of positives to take from it.

“It’ll be great to roll out this afternoon and see where we are at. It’s a great event here, the weather looks a lot better, and there’s nothing cooler than seeing the stands full as we wait for that first green light of the year.”

Bryce Fullwood

“I just can’t wait to get stuck into it now. It was great to have that first test day, go through all the data with the guys, see what worked and what didn’t before the weekend.

“There’s a lot to process no doubt, but I’m really excited to see what the weekend, and what the year holds.

“We had a great weekend here last year, I know the track well so that’s always a bonus when we leave pit lane for the first time.”
