It was a rollercoaster of a night for Chaz Mostert and Bryce Fullwood in Round 3 of the Supercars All Stars Eseries, that saw three races around Bathurst.

Next week, Alexander Rossi joins us for races at Watkins Glen and Montreal.

Qualifying/Shootout

It was a great start to the night, with both cars in the top-10 at the conclusion of the 20-minute qualifying session.

That meant they earned a ticket to the Top 10 Shootout, and a lap to themselves live on Fox Sports.

Bryce unfortunately tagged the wall at turn six, which under iRacing qualifying rules, means the lap is discounted immediately.

Chaz put in a great lap to go fourth quickest, where he would start race 1.

Race 1 (8 Laps)

Chaz 5th, Bryce 15th

Lap 1 proved a challenge, as Bryce had to go wide to avoid a spinning car, picking up damage in the process, while Chaz got turned around while at the front of a four car pack.

He managed to gather it up and re-join, working his way through the field, while Bryce made it back to pitlane to get the car repaired, before moving up in the closing stages.

Race 2 (8 Laps)

Chaz 25th, Bryce 12th

The reverse grid race was action packed as always.

Bryce was on for a top-10 finish before contact on the last lap with Scott Pye sent them both spinning. He showed good speed throughout.

Chaz went with the bold strategy of not stopping until the last lap, meaning he ran in clear air for most of the race.

It worked, moving him from 26th on the grid to 10th at the line, but a 15-second penalty for turning the pit lane speed limiter off 0.5 seconds early, pushed him back down.

Race 3 (16 Laps)

Chaz 17th, Bryce 18th

The race 3 grid was set from the finishing positions of race 2.

Things were going well for Chaz, who was moving forward, until Will Power got in the back of him at turn one, causing a heap of damage and forcing Chaz to limp around to pit lane, ruining his race.

For Fullwood, he kept his nose clean, but a speeding in pitlane infringement gave him a drive-through penalty.

Chaz Mostert

“It was a copy and paste of round 2 for us. Had a good qualifying, but just got taken out.

“It’s probably hurt the points even more, so I’m a bit upset, but that’s racing.

“Looking forward to Round 4, hopefully we can stay away from the trouble.”

Bryce Fullwood

“Frustrating end to the night, but I was really pleased to make it into the shootout. I only just clipped the wall, but that’s the way iRacing is set up, and it’s the same for everyone.

“We got caught up in a bit of trouble throughout the night, and the pit lane speeding penalty hurt our last race.

“Hoping we get on the right side of the luck next week; the ingredients are there for some good results.”
