Round 5 of the Supercars Eseries saw Lando Norris join Chaz Mostert and Bryce Fullwood for three races around Spa, in a night that had it all.

Chaz had an ultra-consistent event, Bryce was extremely quick but unlucky late, and Lando proved the talent he is.

The good news is that Lando will be returning next week for Round 6.

Qualifying/Shootout

In the perfect start to the night, all three drivers made it into the Top 10 Shootout, giving them a lap of Spa to themselves.

Bryce moved up from ninth in qualifying to fourth in the shootout, but unfortunately, Lando and Chaz found the wrong side of the track limits, cancelling their laps, and putting them of seventh and eighth for Race 1.

Race 1

It was a fantastic start to the night, with Lando scoring a podium on debut, and all three cars inside the top five.

Lando took no time in getting up to speed, while Chaz and Bryce were right with him throughout the eight-lap race.

There was chaos on the last lap, but all three cars avoided the drama and scored a nice haul of points.

Race 2

Chaz was the big mover and shaker of the race, going from 26th to fourth. He had a great first lap, stopped early, and made the tyres stay fresh at the end.

Bryce unfortunately got turned and rolled by Jack Doohan, putting him a lap down and out of contention.

Lando got turned by Chris Pither on the start finish line while on the move forward, before hilarity ensued when he tried to get back into pit lane, getting momentarily stuck.

Race 3

The longest race of the night, and Chaz continued on with his results. He had a race long battle with McLaughlin for the final step of the podium, but unfortunately ran a little wide after locking the rear brakes on the final lap, dropping to fifth. Still a very solid result.

For Lando, he got a great start, but a spinning Will Davison left him having to detour through the grass, dropping him back down outside the top 20. He did well to move back up inside the 10.

Bryce was hit three times on lap 1. That’s not a typo, three times. That meant he had damage and was too far back for the rest of the race.

Chaz Mostert

“It was probably one of my most competitive weeks yet, missing out on a couple of opportunities to get a podium, but it’s a big bag of points.

“I was in a podium position on the last lap in race 3 but threw it away on the last corner but snagging the rears.

“We are definitely making improvements, so overall, happy with this week and looking forward to next week!”

Bryce Fullwood

“The speed was really good across the night, it was great to get into the shootout again, and move up to fourth.

“Race 1 we managed to stay away from the trouble and get ourselves a top five finish, but race 2 and 3 we got caught up in other peoples mistakes which was a shame.

“It’s great to be thereabouts pace wise, we will do some more laps over the weekend and give it another go next Wednesday.”
