We headed back to America last night for Oval and Roval racing around Charlotte and Daytona in Round 7 of the Supercars All Stars Eseries.

Race 1: Charlotte

Bryce 4th, Lando 18th, Chaz 23rd

We went oval racing for the first time this season, and what a sight, and race, it was!

During the opening half of the race, all three cars were in the top-5, peeling left and right in the draft, passing for the lead, and putting on a heck of a show.

If the race was one lap shorter, Bryce would have taken the win, but he got shuffled into the fence on the final lap which put him back a couple of places.

Chaz copped a penalty for speeding on pit entry, while Lando got tagged and spun as he entered the pits from the lead half-way through the race.

Race 2: Daytona

Chaz 3rd, Bryce 14th, Lando 19th

Chaz capitalised on a strong qualifying position to grab his first podium of the night. He ran inside the effective top-three for the entire race, with an early pitstop strategy working a treat.

Lando’s night took another hit, as a glitch saw him unable to join the grid at the start. That meant he had to start from pitlane, before working his way though the field.

For Bryce, he was running strongly until an unavoidable accident dropped him down the order.

Race 3: Daytona

Chaz 2nd, Bryce 25th, Lando 27th

Another flawless drive from Chaz put him on the second step of the podium. He had a race long battle with Garry Jacobson before a last lap move at turn 1 sealed the deal. It was a hold your breath moment, but a real highlight.

For Bryce, he was running solidly in seventh with two laps to go, but unfortunately, due to a refuelling error at the second stop, his car run out of gas. It was a shame, as he was fast, clean, and moved by a heap of cars.

Lando’s night went from bad to worse, when accident damage caused his engine to blow…(yes, even in the virtual world).

Chaz Mostert

“Tonight we had a couple of good results and got on the podium twice which I’m pretty pumped about.

“I made a bit of a doozy in the oval race, but Daytona has been a great place to me this year, and it was on my side again tonight.

“Looking forward to next week and trying to build the consistency.”

Bryce Fullwood

“That oval race was a heap of fun, I thought we had it for a minute there, but contact on the last lap with Shane meant I lost momentum.

“The other two races were a bit of a case of what if, especially the last one. We went by a heap of cars and were running well in seventh.

“It was another good night, looking forward to finishing it off strongly over the next few weeks.”
