We’re back in the Top End for our second event at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin in successive weeks.
It will be an action-packed weekend from the word go, and then a mad scramble to get the truck packed and sent to Townsville first thing Monday morning, for the next two weekends.
Milestones
Chaz Mostert starts Supercar round 100 this weekend. Since debuting in 2013, he has amassed 13 wins, 54 podiums and 13-pole positions.
The Track
2.9km, 14 turns, and one heck of a long main straight.
The biggest passing opportunity will be into turn 1, the left-hand hairpin.
Tyres
In a change from last weekend, only the soft-compound tyres will be permitted across the weekend.
Each car will have five-sets of new tyres available, so it will be interesting to watch how they are used over the course of the three races.
Format
Format will follow the same process as last weekend, with three sprint-races across the weekend.
Saturday starts with two practice sessions, before qualifying, a top-15 shootout, and a 38-lap race.
On Sunday, there will once again be two rapid-fire qualifying sessions in a row that set the grid for the two 38-lap races to round out the weekend.
