That’s a wrap for the Top End, as a pair of fourth place finishes gave Chaz Mostert the most points of any driver for the round, while Bryce Fullwood and Kurt Kostecki both moved forward in each race.

Race 13

Chaz: 4th
Bryce: 12th
Kurt: 22nd

Car 25 went aggressive on strategy, looking for the undercut, which was a pivotal moment of the race. Before he was first to stop, Chaz was in sixth. After the stops, he was third on the road, but with wounded tyres compared to those around him. After a fantastic scrap with Whincup in the dying laps for the final podium position, he finished a very respectable fourth.

For Bryce, he went a bit longer, continually looking for clear air as the cars ahead of him stopped, which allowed him to jump a few and move to just outside the top-10.

Kurt was in middle of a scrap from start to finish, in what was a very difficult race to get into a rhythm, eventually crossing in 22nd.

Race 14

Chaz: 4th
Bryce: 14th
Kurt: 17th

This time Chaz was starting a little further back, but the race played out in a similar way. A good start and opening few laps saw him move up to sixth, before an earlier stop than those around him gave him track position. He then had the speed to put himself in the podium fight, but just missing that last little bit to claim a trophy.

Bryce was one of the last cars to stop, before getting the elbows out late to move into 14th in what was a very drive.

Kurt showed great race pace all afternoon when in clear air, which was hard to find, doing a good job to move to 17th.

That rounds out our Darwin trip, with the next stop in Townsville.

Chaz Mostert

“Pretty awesome weekend all round to get the win and have the most points overall, if you had of offered that to me on Thursday I definitely would have taken it.

“We made it a little bit harder today with our qualifying, but the car was awesome in the race, and the stops were great, so a big thanks to the boys in the lane.

“Overall, stoked for the team this weekend, great haul of points, and now we can focus on Townsville where we had some success at last year.”

Bryce Fullwood

“Bit of a disappointing weekend for us, we didn’t get the results we were hoping for heading in, but it was so awesome to be home with some incredible support, so many of our shirts out there on the hill which was cool to see.

“I can’t thank the team enough for all the work they are putting in, we’ve all got our heads down so really excited to get to Townsville and just get the ball rolling again.

Kurt Kostecki

“Awesome weekend, was amazing to be back racing that’s for sure.

“Really proud of the results this weekend, and can’t thank everyone at WAU for all their hard work, and sacrifices so I could be here this weekend.

“We definitely learnt a lot, and I’m getting more and more comfortable each time I’m in the car.

“Really excited to race at home in Perth next, can’t wait.”
