It was another good day in Auckland, with Chaz standing on the podium in the first race of the day, and a double top-10 to round out the weekend.

The marks the end of our time in Pukekohe, a place we will never forget.

Next up, the big one. It’s Bathurst time.

Race 28

Chaz: 2nd
Nick: 14th

After a blinder of a start from fifth, Chaz put his stamp on the front of the field, picking off cars early.

After a red-flag and subsequent restart, he settled into second, where he would remain comfortably for the remainder of the race, just not having the extra speed needed to challenge meaningfully for the top step.

Nick had moved into the top 10 with good speed, however a brush with the wall dropped him slightly down the order, eventually finishing 14th, but living to fight another day.

The podium is Mostert’s best finish at Pukekohe, previously have five third place finishes.

Race 29

Chaz: 6th
Nick: 9th

The final ever race around Pukekohe, and there was plenty happening from the start.

After an early safety car, Percat was the first car to stop, looking for clear air, while Mostert went the long way around, looking for tyre life late.

Both ran in relatively clear air for the race, with Nick solidly in ninth, but Chaz making some moves late to go into sixth.

Chaz Mostert

“Awesome to get that trophy today, car was great, race played out well, and it was just great to reward the entire team with a good result.

“Our starting position in the final race was always going to make it hard, but we moved forward which was good.

“It’s a real shame we don’t get to come back here ever again but the weekend was awesome to be a part of, the crowd was incredible, at the atmosphere was next level.

“Now, we switch our focus to Bathurst, looking forward to heading up there and getting underway.”

Nick Percat

“Really sad that this is the final time we will get to race here, it’s such an awesome track and the fans were unbelievable.

“Everyone has worked really hard to get Car 2 back towards the pointy end again so a big thanks to all involved, there were certainly some good signs across the weekend, and now we get to focus on Bathurst which I can’t wait for.

“We will take the top 10’s, keep building, and look forward to having Luffy by my side in a few weeks.”
