Walkinshaw Andretti United has today revealed its Holden tribute liveries for the VALO Adelaide 500, the last Supercars round for Holden.

Both the Mobil 1 NTI Racing No. 2 and Mobil 1 Optus Racing No. 25 will adorn the Holden Racing Team lion and helmet as a final send off to the brand, with Chaz Mostert and Nick Percat to also wear race suits reflecting the livery.

The livery pays homage to the Team’s early Holden Racing Team years, drawing inspiration from design elements of the early 1990 cars, including the lion and helmet, following the foundation of the Team in 1990.

A special thank you message to the red army sits on the roof of both cars, with all the teams 2022 sponsors proudly displayed.

Optus has also embraced the historical links of the livery, using their 30-year-old logo throughout the car, merchandise, and Chaz Mostert’s suit.

It will be the final roar for Holden between December 1-4 on the streets of Adelaide, however the Teams history with Holden dates back to 1990 when Tom Walkinshaw founded the Holden Racing Team. Since then, the Team has achieved 404 round starts, 187 wins and 274 podiums – as well as proudly carrying the Holden Racing Team moniker for 27 years.

Drivers and crew will also be wearing one-off polo’s that celebrate the success over the journey, which will also be on-sale to the public both at track and online via the Team’s online store.

Bruce Stewart - Team Principal

“We wanted to do something special for the last ever Holden race, and it just wouldn’t be right if we didn’t have the lion and the helmet on the side of our cars for one last time, we know how much it means to so many people.

“This team has had such a long a storied history with Holden, we bled red, our fans bled red, so for the final roar, it’s only fitting we reflect back on the journey we’ve had and thank everyone involved, from the fans who have supported us through thick and thin, the thousands of people who contributed to Holden over its journey, and everyone here who has been a part of our team.

“It finishing in Adelaide is also fitting, with so many people contributing to the Holden legacy just down the road at the Elizabeth plant, the place Nick’s father, grandfather and great grandfather worked as well – these people were the lifeblood of Holden.

“A thank you to all of our partners who have supported this, we are looking forward to hopefully sending the brand off in the best possible way over the weekend.”
