Walkinshaw Andretti United (WAU) has today announced that Morris will be the Naming Rights Partner of WAU’s Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 Series entry, driven by Matt Hillyer.

Morris, a 13-year partner of Walkinshaw Andretti United, specialise in finance, leasing and investment, with five key specialist arms, Morris Broker Solutions, Morris Investments, Morris Business Solutions, Morris Personal and Morris Advisory.

The long-lasting partnership between Morris and WAU has been built off their ethos, Success. Together, and has been seen in all aspects of the business, in what is much more than just a sponsorship.

Now, Morris has committed to supporting the next generation of talent through the WAU Foundation Academy, which aims to provide opportunities to the next generation of Australasian motorsport in all aspects of the team, including drivers, mechanics, engineering staff and commercial staff.

These Foundation Academy members are given hands-on experience of working in a race team, as well as a clear pathway of progression to the top level of Australasian motorsport, in the Supercars Championship.

Hillyer successfully qualified for the 2023 TGRA 86 Series through the Scholarship Series earlier this year, which included a clean sweep of the Phillip Island round, with three wins from three starts.

Now, He will race alongside the Supercars Championship in a five-round series, starting this weekend at the NTI Townsville 500, in the Morris No. 2, the Team’s iconic number.

On-track running gets underway on Friday July 7 with practice, before three races across the weekend.

Bruce Stewart: Team Principal, Walkinshaw Andretti United

“Morris has been an incredible partner of ours for 13 years, which in itself is a huge commitment and testament of the relationship. It’s a partnership that goes much further than a sticker on a race car, it’s linked with how our business operates. We’ve shared some incredible moments over those years, and we’re excited about this new chapter.

“To see them supporting the WAU Foundation Academy, and indeed the future of our sport, shows their commitment to the community, which we are incredibly thankful for.

“Matt has done an excellent job behind the wheel this year, so we are all excited to see him in the Morris No. 2 this weekend for Round 1, the entire team will be watching!”

Damien Foster: Chief Operating Officer, Business Solutions

“This partnership is one that we’re thrilled to build upon and we look forward to working with Matt Hillyer and WAU in what will no doubt be an exciting TGRA 86 Series ahead.”
