We fought with everything we had today, for 161 laps, but Chaz and Lee just missed out on the final step on the podium.

It has been a long four days of on track action, coming out behind the eight ball early on.

The team worked hard all week, continuing to build on the cars, leaving no stone unturned.

Nick Percat had a mega start up five positions in the opening few laps.

It was a split strategy for both cars with the Mobil 1 NTI Racing Car 2 pitting early on lap 14 and the Mobil 1 Optus Racing Car 25 on lap 23. This meant they were running their own races for the first half of the race.

Both cars chipped away all day, not a single error in the lane, the crew did an amazing job all week.

After the final stops, we were hoping for a late safety car to bunch the field up and give Chaz the opportunity to get a step on the podium.

Unfortunately, no safety car came, so Nick and Chaz continued to close the gap on the cars in front but were running their own race.

Whilst disappointed we didn’t get a podium this weekend, we will take a fourth at Bathurst any day of the week.

Eyes are forward to the Gold Coast 500 in three weeks time, where cars will hit the track on Friday 27th October.

Nick Percat

“It wasn’t a bad day for the Mobil 1 NTI Racing Car 2 today, we brought the car home clean to cross the line 14th.

“We were hoping for a safety car in the final stint which could have helped us have a little bit, but it’s been great to have Fabs alongside me this weekend.

“A big thanks to the team, obviously we changed every single nut and bolt across the two cars to get a good result and some speed in the race.”

Fabian Coulthard

“The Mobil 1 NTI Racing Car 2 probably didn’t come away with the results they wanted, but it wasn’t due to lack of hard work and a never give up attitude.

“We continued to fight to the end, we moved forward in the race and had a lot of fun while doing it.

“Thanks to everyone at Walkinshaw Andretti United for their hard work and efforts throughout the weekend, it’s been great to join forces with the team for another year!”

Chaz Mostert

“We gave it our best shot today, if you said we were going to finish fourth this morning we would have taken it!

“Super proud of the whole team, they were absolutely faultless today.

“The car was pretty speedy towards the end there, but we didn’t have the winning pace this weekend.”

Lee Holdsworth

“Pretty disappointed we didn’t get to reward the team with a trophy this weekend, but we will take fourth.

“It’s been such a fun weekend with the WAU team and Chazzie, good that he has come away with a strong haul of points for the championship.

“The team have done an amazing job all weekend, it was a tough start but we built our way back up towards the end of the weekend.”
