Walkinshaw TWG Racing has today announced they will be expanding their presence in the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia (TGRA) GR Cup, increasing its entry to three cars for the 2026 season.

The expanded program will see young talents Ayce Buckley, Pip Casabene and Liam Gerges represent the Walkinshaw TWG Racing team as a part of the Walkinshaw Foundation Academy.

Ayce Buckley enters his debut TGRA GR Cup season in 2026 following a strong 2025 campaign, where he secured the 2025 NSW Excel Championship. He now steps into the category ready to embrace the challenge.

Pip Casabene had a great 2025 TGRA GR Cup season, recording two race wins and three podium finishes. After a strong end to his season this positions him well as he looks to continue that momentum into the 2026 season.

Liam Gerges competed in the TGRA GR Scholarship Series in 2025, claiming victory at the Scholarship Series Evaluation Day to earn a fully funded TGRA GR Cup drive at Bathurst. That experience provided an invaluable introduction to the category and has him focused developing and progressing through the category.

The on-track program will be headed by Warren Luff as Team Manager, providing his invaluable experience and mentorship to the young drivers, but will also be supported by a number of Walkinshaw Foundation Academy team members.

The expansion comes in a landmark year for Walkinshaw TWG Racing, with the Supercars team going back to their roots and becoming a Toyota homologation team.

The TGRA GR Cup provides an invaluable pathway into Supercars, one that will only increase in years to come.

Buckley, Casabene and Gerges will hit the track for Round 1 at Sydney Motorsport Park, alongside the anticipated debut of the Toyota GR Supra Supercar.

Bruce Stewart

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Ayce, Pip and Liam to the Walkinshaw TWG Racing family. Each driver has shown great potential, and we’re looking forward to seeing their growth this season.

“It’s a privilege to have Warren Luff lead our expanded Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia GR Cup team. Luffy has been a tremendous asset to our team for many years, most recently playing an instrumental role in the development of our Walkinshaw Foundation Academy drivers.

“This expansion in the TGRA GR Cup is about far more than just adding cars to a grid, it’s about creating genuine pathways for young people in our sport. Ryan Wood’s journey started in the GR Cup, highlighting just how powerful this category can be as a development platform, but not just for drivers.

“We are all really excited to see what our three young drivers can achieve this year, and can’t wait for Sydney Motorsport Park to kickstart the year.”

Warren Luff

“I’ve been with the Team for over a decade and this year my involvement will look a bit different but I’m really excited to take on the challenge.

“It’ll be great to work with new young talent in the sport, Ayce, Pip and Liam have shown great promise and already fit into the team really well.

“The Walkinshaw Foundation Academy is such an incredible program and I’m looking forward to continuing the great work and help build a strong next generation for Australian Motorsport.”

Ayce Buckley

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join Walkinshaw TWG Racing and to work with a team that’s shown real confidence in me and my potential.

“The level of professionalism and hunger to win is exactly what I’ve been looking for at this stage of my career.

“This marks an important step in my development as a driver, and I’m looking forward to building a strong relationship with the team, continuing to develop, and giving it a red-hot crack to achieve great results on track.”

Pip Casabene

“I can’t thank Bruce and the Walkinshaw TWG Racing crew enough for giving me this awesome opportunity to be a part of the team in the TGRA GR CUP this year.

“I cannot wait to get our journey started together in 2026, I’ve met a lot of the crew early this year and they make me feel like I’m already a part of Walkinshaw Family.

“I am very excited to work alongside Ayce and Liam and push each other to the limits whilst learning off some of the most experienced drivers in Luffy, Chaz and Woody.”

Liam Gerges

“I’m very excited to be joining the Walkinshaw TWG Racing in the Toyota GR Cup this year. It’s pretty surreal to be representing one of the biggest Supercars teams out there.

“I had an incredible year in the scholarship series last year and I’m looking forward to continuing to build and grow this season.

“It’s a very exciting chapter in my career and I’m ready to soak it all in and give it my best shot.”
