James Courtney was 16th, while Scott Pye didn’t finish after front end damage in race 12 in Perth.

Pye’s incident happened at the final corner as he went under Andre Heimgartner, suffering front end damage, ending his night prematurely.

Before the incident, Scott was heading for a top-10 finish.

JC’s progression through the field was made difficult following a broken throttle stop shortly after the first pit stop. He did well to manage it throughout the final two stints, but it made his life difficult.

He had moved comfortably into the top-15 and was still progressing forward.

Each car had showed positives signs early in the race before their separate issues occurred.

Earlier in the day, Scott advanced through all three stages to qualifying inside the top-10, a vast improvement from the previous day, while James struggled with front-end grip, and started 20th.

Overall, despite the separate positives from both cars, not the standard of weekend we hold ourselves to. We have two weekends to re-group before we head to Winton.

We know a lot will say that’s been said before, but we can only deal in the present. What we do know is that everyone here in Australia and around the globe are hurting, but no one is rolling over. We’re down but we are not out.
