The grid is set for The Great Race, and both cars are in the hunt.

Chaz and Fabian will start from third, and Nick and Warren from sixth for tomorrow’s 161 laps around The Mountain, a strong position to be in.

How we got there though wasn’t exactly in the schedule. Both cars qualified for the shootout in the Friday afternoon qualifying session, a fantastic result on both sides of the garage.

Saturday saw two practice sessions, where once again, the results across both cars were really solid, with Chaz topping the final practice.

However, as predicted, the heavens opened up in the afternoon, flooding the circuit, and leaving it too unsafe for the Top 10 Shootout to go ahead.

That meant to grid was locked from qualifying, and both cars are in the mix after a strong weekend so far.

Tomorrow, we put it all on the line for 1000km, in conditions that are hard to predict at this stage.

The warmup gets underway at 8am, before lights go out at 11:15am, and 161 laps are ahead of us.

Lets see what The Mountain has in store for us.

Chaz Mostert

“Disappointed for everyone we didn’t get to put on a show today, but conditions were unfortunately too dangerous. A huge thanks to everyone who stuck around all day, the braved the rain and are legends.

“It’s been definitely a different weekend to last year, the track and conditions have been tricky, but we had a good day today, so we are all looking forward to tomorrow.”

Fabian Coulthard

“We’ve had a good weekend so far, the whole team has done an amazing job, now it’s time to head into Sunday and see what happens.

“We know Bathurst is hard to predict, but we are in the mix, and I can’t wait to get underway.”

Nick Percat

“We’ve been tracking well so far this weekend, the cars been pretty good in all conditions, and across the two cars we’ve managed to try some different things so I’m happy with where we are at.

“It’s a real shame we couldn’t get the shootout underway, was the right call to cancel it, but I feel for everyone here who hung around, and everyone at home who tuned in, hopefully Luffy and I can put on a show tomorrow and see where we end up!”

Warren Luff

“Been a good weekend so far, we’ve done a lot of running in pretty much every condition possible and the car has felt good.

“Who knows what Bathurst has in store for us tomorrow,

but Nick and I have been really comfortable this weekend, and we are ready to have a crack and see how we go.”
