We’ve headed to the Top End for back-to-back weekends of racing at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin.

This weekend, Bryce Fullwood becomes the first native to race a Supercar in the Northern Territory, a huge feat, and one the local crowd will be right behind.

We come into this weekend off the back of a strong showing last start. Chaz Mostert remains third in the 2020 championship, while Bryce comes in fresh of the back of his best race result, with a seventh-place finish in the final race at Sydney Motorsport Park.

It will be an action-packed weekend from the word go, as this weekend kicks off four consecutive race weekends in our top-end stretch of the season; two in Darwin, followed by two in Townsville.

The Track

2.9km, 14 turns, and one heck of a long main straight.

The biggest passing opportunity will be into turn 1, the left-hand hairpin.

Format

Format will follow the same process as the last few rounds, with three sprint-races across the weekend.

Saturday starts with two practice sessions, before qualifying, a top-15 shootout, and a 38-lap race.

On Sunday, there will once again be two rapid-fire qualifying sessions in a row that set the grid for the two 38-lap races to round out the weekend.

Tyres

Both hard and soft compounds will be used across the weekend.

The only restriction is that the hard compound must be used across the Saturday qualifying sessions and top-15 shootout. That means that teams will have the option of a soft tyre run in each of Sunday’s two sessions.

Pit Stops

No fuel, just tyres.

Our crew set the two quickest two-tyre and four-tyre stops of the weekend in Sydney, so we will be out to repeat again this weekend.

How to Watch

This weekend will be live on Channel 10, Fox Sports and Kayo.

Weather

It’s your typical Darwin dry-season weather on the radar… 32c and sunny!

Bryce Fullwood

“I’m really looking forward to being the first Territorian to race at home. Whilst we can’t have a full crowd, at least we are able to have some fans watching on, which will be awesome to see them there.

“This weekend is something I’ve dreamt of since I was young, and that I’ve worked really hard for, so it’s surreal that it’s finally time.

“Looking forward to having my family at track, pity they can’t be in the garage with me, but still happy to have them at the circuit, they haven’t been there as much as they would have of liked for obvious reasons, but knowing they are watching on will be really cool, they have been there the entire way with me.

“Looking forward to getting it all underway now!”

Chaz Mostert

“It’s great to be up here in the top end, I really love it up here.

“It’s been a bit of a weird year, we will probably never see anything like it again, but it’s great to be racing again.

“I’m excited to see where we are at when we roll out again, and then learn more about the car across the weekend, and then into the second event, which we don’t get to do very often.”
