We’re backkkkk!

After a few months at home, engines are firing back up as we start the run home of the 2021 Supercars Championship, starting with a big weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Format

Chaz and Bryce will have a chance to blow off any cobwebs with two practice sessions on Friday, the second of which is under lights.

From there, the SuperSprint format includes three races over the weekend, with Saturday night’s race under the new floodlight Sydney Motorsport Park... don’t miss it!

Tyres

We’re on the soft tyre all weekend. As we saw last year, Sydney Motorsport Park’s abrasive surface means tyre degradation is at an all time high. Managing tyres will be key, and there will be action aplenty.

The Stats

Chaz had two fourths and a fifth last year in Sydney, while Bryce had a best finish of seventh.

How to Watch

Weather

It’s going to be a hot Friday, with 34 degrees the forecast before a much more enjoyable top of 22 across Saturday and Sunday. No rain on the agenda.

Chaz Mostert

“I think it goes without saying how good to be back it is. It’s almost feels like a new season, so I’m like a kid on Christmas for this weekend.

“It’s nice to have a couple of sessions on Friday to get back into the swing of things, and then racing under lights on Saturday night will be awesome.

“Thanks to everyone for sticking with us over the break, can’t wait to get into it and do you all proud in the run home, and at Bathurst.”

Bryce Fullwood

“Man it’s good to be back talking about going racing again that’s for sure. I’ve missed it.

“Sydney is such a cool place to race, the racing is always good, tyre deg will be a massive part, and under lights is always cool.

“To be honest, I just can’t wait to get behind the wheel again, and get stuck into it!”
