What we’ve learnt

Two events down, 13 to go. The circus is just about to roll on to Tassie next week, but before we do, let’s take a breather and reflect on what we’ve learnt so far.

Our fans are the best in the business

No seriously, you are. The support you have shown the team this year, these last 26 years, has been incredible. From the moment we launched Mobil 1 HSV Racing on February 6, you guys have been right behind us, and we couldn’t say thank you enough. We know you were all #BornForThis.

Scotty is finding his grove

Clispal was a learning curve for Scotty in his new ride. There is a lot to get your head around when in a new car. Different set up, different feel, different voices over the radio… everything. There was always going to be a period of getting familiar, but the way he responded to some bad luck in qualifying at the AGP was extremely positive. He charged through the field in three of the four races, and showed in race four that in clean air, has some serious pace. He set the fifth fastest time in the last race of the weekend to finish on a high note, and take confidence into Tassie.

JC is on the money

A third, a fourth and two fifths to start the year is a great base to build off. He left Clipsal equal second in the championship, closing out the Grand Prix with good race pace. It’s only early, but it’s a very solid position to be in heading forward.

The sleeping giant?

ALL the talk from the media so far this year has been about two Queensland teams going head-to-head, with not much chat about anyone else being a threat. That’s fine by us. We are more than happy to sit back quietly and do our thing, but beware of a sleeping giant…

Black is back

You wanted it, you got it. The black wheels made their return at the AGP, and didn’t they look mean! The good news is, they are here to stay.
