Bryce wheeled the Mobil 1 Middy’s Racing No. 2 inside the top 10 in Race 23, in what was a tough day for the two other cars.

Bryce and Car No. 2 went the alternate strategy in the race, opting to start on the soft tyre, while most others were on the hard compound.

It meant that he would be fighting against those on softs at the end, but he did he did a fantastic job to maintain the pace and hold most off.

Chaz and the Car 25 crew were chasing balance all afternoon, so opted to save two sets of new soft tyres for qualifying tomorrow, which had them mid-pack. It was a tricky evening for him, stopping early to switch from the hard to the softs, which left him battling with tyre life at the end.

For Kurt, time was not his friend today, with a jam-packed schedule up against those with an extra weekend of running.

He showed some good signs throughout the day, which will help tomorrow.

Sunday sees two qualifying sessions, and two more 32-lap races, the second of which is under lights. Looking at the radar, weather may play a massive part late.

Bryce Fullwood

“A lot more positive of a day for us which was great. The qualifying car was a real improvement, I just didn’t match the Q1 time in Q2 which was a shame.

“We rolled the dice on strategy, starting on the soft, but it was a good call, and I think the car balance was a lot better in the race as opposed to last week.

“Forecast looks nice and interesting tomorrow so we will see what mother nature brings.”

Chaz Mostert

“Wasn’t our night tonight, so we will put our heads together before tomorrow.

“To be honest we bit the bullet a little bit in qualifying, so that we have two sets of greens to use tomorrow, because we just lacked the overall pace we needed.

“We will have a crack at it overnight, there’s some learning from the other car I think we can take and have another go tomorrow.

Kurt Kostecki

“It was always going to be a crazy day rolling into this condensed format as our first weekend, especially on the two tyre compounds, so there was a lot going on.

“Will be nice to go back tonight, take a breathe and absorb it all, and the reset for Sunday.

“Might need the wets tomorrow so we will see how it ends up!”
